Dear Classmates:-

What a delightful pleasure it has been to read about your most interesting and varied activities; husbands, children, and grandchildren; the devotion shown to Anna by her nieces and nephew; Nina's beautiful description of her mother; Lyda's visit to the Orient and what the experience has meant to her; the church and club work in which many of you are interested and active; Rosalie's farm in West Virginia; and Nancy's great love for the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

My work as head of the department of mathematics in the Western High School, my home, church, and social service work jeeps me fully occupied. While I have no children of my own, my two sisters and I have mothered an adopted brother who was 19 years old this summer. He is especially fond of sports and won a medal for diving in a city-wide contest last month.

Since February 17, 1936, I have had the honor of being a great aunt. My niece, Elizabeth, and her husband were high school classmates in La Grange, Ill. After her graduation from Smith College and his college graduation, they were married in New Jersey and are now living in Massachusetts where my grand nephew was born.

I have been very busy this vacation with home improvement. The workmen have just finished covering our wood shingle sidewalls with '*** Eternit Colonial Tuinbertex Asbestos Cement Siding'. If there is anything in the length of a name, I am sure, our paint and upkeep problems are solved forever. The painters are working on shutters and porches and expect to finish next week. The house will be light gray - almost white - with dark green shutters.

During July 1935, I had a most delightful visit with Eda in her lovely apartment in Washington. When Dr. Shefloe comes to our city high schools in regard to books, I usually have the pleasure of seeing him there. Emilie and I do not live very far apart but our work keeps us so busy that we do not see each other as often as we would like. Florence is travelling so much of the time that Emilie and I very seldom see her.

I join with Milly in 'Let's hope for a big crowd at next reunion.' My love and best wishes to you all.

Sincerely,
