Dear 1903:
It has been some years since the last letter. I think at that time one of my daughters, Jane, was graduating from Goucher. B., the other daughter, had graduated there the year before. As you see we are still on Long Island. Bruce Jr. went to Law School after he finished Amherst and passed his Bar Exams on the first try, which pleased me. He was lucky enough to get a position with a good firm last Fall, and now expects to be married next month. B., the older girl, went to Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School after College. She is now in the Cornell Extension work in Mineola. That is just a few miles away so she can drive over. It is the Home Bureau of Nassau County and she finds it very interesting.
Jane went to Law School for a year after College, but then decided she didn't want to be a lawyer. So last August she went to Europe with an Aunt and had a marvelous trip. Bob graduated from Amherst this June. He hopes to get into insurance. Now that all four have their A.B.'s I think Bruce and I will loaf a little.
I manage to keep pretty busy. Just now our Woman's Club has just received a wonderful gift - three acres of land upon which a marvelous Club House in being built and completely equipped. Daisy and I have been on the Building Committee and now on the Ways and Means Committee. As a consequence we just about eat and sleep Club. Mrs. Barstow is a member of our Club and she is the kind fairy. Isn't it grand for a woman to be able to do all that for a Club?
When I was in Amherst in June for Bob's graduation I saw Helen Waite. Her son was also graduating. He and Bob were on the tennis team.
Let's hope for a big crowd at next reunion. If any of you are in New York, just remember that I am just thirty minutes away - telephone Great Neck 369 and I will meet any train.
Milly B. Bielaski
