My dear classmates,

I am, indeed, brave to date my letter, and thus let you see how long I have had Round Robin. It came just when I was very busy getting my daughter ready for Goucher- I have never been so busy in my life as this fall + winter. I just can't meet all the demands upon my time + energy, so meet the ones most urgent at the moment- hence the class letter was laid aside many times when I could really have enjoyed writing.

1926 saw two of my great ambitions started. First- my daughter, 'Nancy Gray' entered Goucher College Sept 29th + second - we started building a lovely new house. The latter is progressing slowly, but surely, and we will move into it in April. Last Fall, I went to Balto. with Nancy Gray, when she entered- and have also made a couple little trips [ripped]. Each time, I stay at Alumnae Lodge [ripped] and it is a real joy to be back at college again.

I always knew I wanted Nancy to go to Goucher, and am perfectly delighted with our decision. The College is lovely to the daughter of Alumnae. Just think- there's Carrie Probst and Francis Conner to direct everything! Miss Bacon, Dr. Welsh, just beam on any alumnae's daughters. The word 'alumna' is magic - and even the maids seem especially interested in a daughter. Then, it is fine to have so many granddaughters there. I believe 1903 has more daughters there at present than any other class. Claire Ackerman, Eda Briggs, Edith Powell, Rosalie Pendelton, Jane Stewart, Nancy Nulton, Nell McColl, Helen Dall, Mary Moore and many other alumnae have daughters there. Really it is lovely.

To my great surprise + joy - I find that, tho, the college is necessarily much larger than when we were there, yet the organization is much better, and the girls get much closer supervision, and the contact with the faculty is closer than in our day. As a patron, I am delighted. The mid-year exams are just over - + Nancy Gray is spending the weekend here at home - but returns early Tues. morning for the second semester. She has gotten along quite well with her work, and is entering into college life and all its activities as fully as I did. It has brought me in closer touch with Goucher, really made me feel just like a college girl again.

In 1925 I returned for our reunion. It was pleasant in some ways- and in other ways it was a surprise and disappointment. I had not been back for many, many years. Of course, I thought the reunion would be in Goucher Hall, where '01, '02, '04 were also holding their reunions. I had looked forward to seeing all those girls, in Goucher Hall as we used to meet. Out at the Alumnae Luncheon, I learned from several that 1903, never entered into anything with the other classes. I tried to correct their idea- which had reached alumnae in California, Canada and Texas. That evening about 5, Rosalie Pendelton and I strolled in Goucher Hall to look at all the tables set, ready for the banquets. Many of the alumnae were gathering, and all seemed glad to see us - but we couldn't find 1903s table and were told that 1903 never held reunions in Goucher Hall, as the other classes did. You will never know how great our disappointment was. We left the hall, hunted up Edith Powell, and found our reunion was at Charlotte Jones' house. Charlotte was a lovely, gracious hostess, but why was 1903 not with other alumnae? Why was the word around that 1903 didn't mingle with the alumnae? Girls, it is up to us to show ourselves as real Goucher alumnae - not members of a dissenting class. I feel that we should not let the differences of one or two, outside the class, disrupt our loyalty to our College.

Let every one make a desperate effort to return in 1928 for a real college reunion, as members of Goucher College alumnae, of the class of 1903.

To all who have daughters, prepare them for Goucher, and enjoy it as a patron as I am doing now. My very best wishes to every member of 1903.

Sincerely yours, Nancy Nulton Larrick
