Fire Thoughts

by Florence M. Wilson

Shifting, dancing, singing,
The winter fires blaze,
Rendering in beauty
The captive summer days,
Pent-up sunshine bursting
From prison's gloomy maze.

Thus in soft light musing,
I read our story there;
Life's rare sunshine prisoned
In thoughts of dark despair,
Breaking thence in beauty
To ease another's care.
