September 1925 Goucher Alumnae Quarterly:
The class of 1903 mourns the death of its beloved class-mate, Edith Rice Hanly.
An earnest student, Edith Rice also had an unusual capacity for friendship which drew her into many of the extra-curricular activities that make the life of a GOucher student so rich and many-sided. It also prepared her for the position of leadership which she was later to assume among the progressive and civic-spirited women of CUmberland, Maryland, where she made her home.
Her loss will be felt not only be her class-mates, but by all who came in contact with her vibrant personality.
The class requests that this memorial be incorporated in the minutes of the Alumnae Association and that a copy be sent to her sorrowing family. -Emilie Doetsch, Secretary.
