Peabody Ragtime Ensemble, Maryland's Premiere Vintage Jazz Ensemble

Celebrating its 25th year this spring, the seven-piece Peabody Ragtime Ensemble is dedicated to preserving the roots of American jazz through research, arrangement and performance of the vintage repertoire.

From Ragtime to Dixieland to Big Band, the ensemble "edutains" its audiences with a blend of informative narrative and virtuoso playing that takes the listener on a stroll through America's musical history. Thrice named "Baltimore's Best" by Baltimore Magazine and winners of a 1991 WAMMY award for Best Dixieland Band, the ensemble is equally comfortable on the dance floor and the concert stage.
