2006 Kratz Center Summer Writing Fellowship Awards
The Kratz Center for Creative Writing is pleased to announce the 2006 Summer Writing Fellowship Awards.
Hanna Badalov receives a fellowship to support a trip to Barcelona, the capital city of Catalonia in Spain to write stories and poems influenced by Gaudi. Grant Amount: $2500.00
Michael Campochiaro receives a fellowship to support a road trip to the West to produce a group of stories most likely to be set in California or Arizona. Grant Amount: $1500.00
Jordana Frankel receives a fellowship to support the study of folkloric narratives and storytelling at the Festival on the Edge (England), the Yukon Festival (Canada) and the Timponagos Storytelling Festival (Canada) as background for an oral narrative/poem cycle. Grant Amount: $2500.00
Nathanael Wells Holbrook receives a fellowship to support travel to research stories and poems based on homes in Newport, the Hudson River Valley, and California (e.g. Hearst Castle and Winchester Mystery House. Grant Amount: $2500.00
Sarah Kendall receives a fellowship to support an internship at The Writers’ Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Grant Amount: $1430.00
Andrew Madison receives a fellowship to support his attendance at workshops in screenwriting, travel writing, and fiction at the Paris American Academy in France. Grant Amount: $2500.00
Allison McCarthy receives a fellowship to support attendance at the Tinker Mountain Writers’ Workshop at Hollins University. Grant Amount: $1220.00
Anna Slesinski receives a fellowship to support a trip to Berlin to meet her German relatives and write a braided narrative about them. Grant Amount: $2500.00
Rebecca Rosenberg receives a fellowship to support a visit to Chicago for research for a novel about gay marriage set there. Grant Amount: $1200
